The Academy will raise funds for annual book donations to the International School at Gregory. The Academy currently has a Literary Partnership with Scholastic, Inc., one of the world’s largest publishers of children’s books. The Academy will make annual book donations to Gregory for family and community engagement, classroom instruction, and to replenish the library and media center damaged by Hurricane Florence of 2018. The Scholastic Partnership allows for free bonus books, discounts up to 70%, free shipping, and access to exclusive Scholastic resources.Scholastic has an abundance of literary resources as a publisher and distributor of children's books and believes that independent reading is a critical part of children's learning and growth. With the support from the Academy and Scholastic Education, the teachers and parents of the International School at Gregory will receive engaging, authentic, age appropriate books for their main library, media center, classroom libraries and students will have the opportunity to self-select from Scholastic books they want to read, and discover the pleasure and power of reading to build their home libraries. You Financial Support is Providing Access To Books:Q: How does increasing a child's access to books support academic success?The mere presence of books in the home profoundly impacts a child's academic achievement.
